To have people who look different all subscribe to the same ideals means that these ideas can now be presented as universal. Ethnicities are being used as ideological accessories. That's why you see commercials trying to be as diverse as possible. If a white person, a black person and a brown person are all using the same laundry detergent, then that must mean it's great laundry detergent.
