  1. It's such an obvious pattern. Take a beloved story, shit all over it in the sequel that no doubt commercially performs well due to the original's success. Lace it with social justice to hide behind when the inevitable shit hits the fan. Media draws faction lines and rather than a 'bad writer' you're a 'brave and divisive writer'. And we all act surprised every time they play this script.
