  1. Japanese and Korean TV are very 'exploitative' when they take Western celebrities on their show. Like Jack Black, and the Rock, and Ryan Gosling. It's fucking hilarious, the celebrities don't feel offended when they're put on display as 'the weird foreigner' they're having fun. Though if the same was tried in Western media the virtue signallers would trip over themselves to feel offended on behalf of foreign celebrities.

  2. Yeah, it's very cynical pandering. Independence Day had a whole segment of the movie devoted to the Chinese audience. And then there's of course The Last Jedi where they hoped some buch Vietnamese American was going to appeal to the Chinese market. Instead they took it as an insult.

  3. I love Asian movies. Especially Indonesia is on a roll now. Brutally violent but still with a very serene and compassionate sentiment. Asian movies aren't molly-coddling their audience, they're mad to experience life in all its depths and all its highs.
