1: Indeed, the central nervous system shared by vertebrates: 2: Animals need to eat far more plants in order to turn into meat. 3: Still would like to see these studies, though they're probably about the bio-chemical reflexes that plants have to damage.

If you can't link me to them then you're basing your claims on nothing. And because you believe that mammalian suffering is merely a reflex I've got good reason to believe there isn't much to this 'research'.

Okay, show me one of those scientific studies.

Lol you picked up a dictionary. In Biology reflexes have a very specific meaning. It means a direct response to stimulae without any processing by the brain. Why does this matter? Because in order for a species to suffer the input needs to be processed by a prain. Without it it's just a non-sentient reflex. Plants respond to physical trauma, but they don't have the capacity to suffer in the way a vetrebrate does.
2
That's really quite simple. Through MRI scans we see what parts of our brains activate when we experience pain, stress, grief, or well, any other emotion be it positive or negative. Most mammals share these same brain parts. Vertebrates all have a brain though in various degrees of complexity and thus not all vertebrates share the same capacity of suffering. Then there's insects, crustodians and cellaphods which only have a rudimentary brain, it's not entirely certain but it's quite likely that these species have next to no capacity to suffer. Separate from all of those are the plants and funghi. They have biochemical response to damage but no meaningful way to process any form of pain or suffering.

I don't think you truly believe plants feel a thing. It's just that it'd be really convenient if they did and that's a way to relieve the cognitive dissonance that vegans provoke in you.
2
I reject the claim that plants transmit electrical signals. There's no evidence for that whatsoever.
2
Read the conclusion (not the abstract), they admit they didn't really find anything.
2
There was nothing they could interpret as anything. My watch has more electrostatic charge and it sure as hell isn't sentient.

I don't think you understand what a reflex means. Not every stimulus to a response is a reflex.

We know that we lose sensory input when we sever the nerves, that's what surgeons sometimes do to ease chronic pain in amputees. If there's nothing to sever in the first place, like with plants, then there were never any sensations to begin with either. Anyway, you're not going to admit that this postion is just convenient for anyone that isn't a vegan. It's last device to feel better than them.
