Sticking to your framework because you've already invested in it is a sunken cost fallacy though. So he's right that you should be careful about blowing up the framework but the amount of effort invested in it should not be an argument.

The moment you consider your options all scales are set back to zero. That means that although staying the course may be cheaper (you already paid for it) it does not mean that the amount you invested before hand is relevant at all. Especially not when the odds of failing the course have become substantially higher.

Then I completely misapprehended you. I do believe there's such a thing as a fallacy fallacy though it would simply be a slang for non sequitur. To that I should also add that the 'sunken cost fallacy' isn't necessarily a formal logic fallacy but rather a pitfall in reasoning within economics.

I refuse to take responsibility for anything.

Personally I also hate it when people are quick to label something a fallacy without making a good case as to why it is in fact a fallacy. However, I do believe I made a case for that. Some people didn't think it was a good case and that's fair, but merely dismissing the claim that a fallacy is invoked by saying it's fallacy in and of itself without further argument, that is, I'm afraid, also fallacious.

Semantics.

Let me help out with some reading assistance then because you're so frothingly eager for an internet argument that you're reading but a fraction of the words in front of you. I didn't say it wasn't a fallacy. I I said it isn't necessarily a formal logic fallacy. That's the claim you're getting your panties in a bunch over while at the same time reaffirming it by stating that it's a psychological pitfall.
