Steven Colbert has been terrible since his new show. It's all safe jokes and comments on headlines without depth or nuance. I'll agree John was great but politically incorrect helped pave the way for John Stewart. As for James Gordon I've never watched his show so IDK. Didn't think he was political satire, just a talk show like colbert now.

  12. NRA was funded by russia until about 8 years ago. They were paying members fines fir wrongful discharge of a fire arm, and property damage, to encourage violence and disent. Russia also helped them draft legislation making it easier for weapons to proliferate. You can watch an old Last week tonight episode on that very topic. The NRA works for a hostile Government, it is nit your friend. Bunch of sellouts and zealots over there.

  28. To be fair, that is how Christian love is presented in the Bible, and how it was administered historically. The crusades weren't a picnic. In fact many of the 14 crusades were just large raids to steal a bunch of stuff then leave. Or to crush any religious institution in Europe that wasn't part of the papal sea.

  36. Here in some provinces we used to have "training wage" which was $2.75 less per hour. It was a special lower wage that impacted first time employees, and became popular with minimum wage jobs. It was removed early 2000s in all the provinces. In practice companies would fire people just before they hit regular wage, and because they never hit regular wage, another fast food establishment could hire them on training wage again. There was like a 2,000 hour cap they had to reach in their position, that most were fired before hitting. Luckily this US style experiment only lasted about a decade.

  38. Wait, which province? In BC minimum wage is minimum wage. We had training wage and tipped wage in the 90s and early 2000s but we removed it all. What province is still practicing this malarkey? I was pretty sure sub minimum wage was abandoned across Canada.

  39. I remember when they first let women in the Olympics. They won more medals then expected so a female category was created. Too many women were beating men and it made them uncomfortable. As for advantage, if the trans person has been on hormone therapy I don't see how they'd have any. Besides, many female athletes take a lot of testosterone to gain muscle and recover from practice faster.
