@andrewabbott2656 the encyclopedia is not a good source for history. It's a brief summary of existing words. Try the research paper "Destruction of a Dream, The Tragedy of Avro Canada and the CF-105 Arrow" Or the book "Rising to greatness, the history of Canada".

@JP-fq5zj they absolutely had no hand in helping, they were in feirce competition. They eventually threw huge money at defenbaker to become premier. In exchange he destroyed avro industries for the USA. They couldn't handle the competition.

@JP-fq5zj CF-100 Canuck, the tests and equipment were Canadian made and done in Canada as well. As for the overweight XF-108, it wasn't maneuverable enough to work as an interceptor, that's why the program was scrapped and the aircraft never built beyond a wooden model.
