  2. @PhysicsPolice  according to freedomtoread 43% of defendants who spend under $100,000 loose slap suits. If you don't know the law, or understand procedures, it becomes very easy for an experienced lawyer to bog an average person down in procedure and technicalities.

  5. @PhysicsPolice  there's a different standard between beyond all reasonable doubt, and preponderance of doubt. In civil court, you only need to show your case is essentially 51% or "more likely then not", in your favor

  6. @PhysicsPolice  we did. If you are sued in private court you definitely need a lawyer. Otherwise you take a very real risk of loosing a frivolous suit. It happens all the time.
