  1. generally ok, at least we are not treated as bad as the chinese in indonesia and malaysia. though some filipinos still dont accept or are ignorant that we are not foreign in this country. also a japanese-filipino schoolmate says he is often mistaken as a chinese-filipino and he finds it hard to understand implicit japanese cultural norms when he is in japan. funny tho, sometimes people also mistake me for being a japanese or korean

Many filipinos do that normally. smiling and laughing a lot and saying kaya and that they can do it. might really just be a thing here for some of us but might also be a recent trend to just laugh and smile things away. people tend to add extra hahahas, lols, and emojis here to lighten the mood.

  4. this is because "negro" and "negra" means "black" in spanish. this is why it has been a historically used term we use here in the philippines because at this point, it is already a filipino word of spanish origin.

  5.  @slukeo3868  lol if ur tsinoy, its not mandarin we use, although it is taught in school. we use hokkien/fukien. in philippine hokkien, you call younger sisters as "shobe" and older sisters as "atsi/achi", and older brother as "ahia/kohia", and younger brother as "shoti". even the filipino words "ate" and "kuya" actually etymologically come from "a-tsi" and "ko-hia" from historical colonial sangley filipinos

It is our ancestors who traded and brought back western products and spanish silver back to china. even ur silly 人民币元 currency has historical roots to the spanish silver peso it was tied to 2 centuries ago when our ancestors brought that to your shores. even today, most of the top billionaires of southeast asia, are of hokkien and teochew origin, of which the richest non royal family on that list is a chinese-filipino. lol if you knew anything about dna tests and demographics, 36% of the mixed filipino gene pool is of east asian origin, mostly hokkien, japanese, and cantonese taishanese origin, and of which today, 1.8% of the philippine population is pure chinese of mostly hokkien 福建 background...

  14. that thing about being ostracized by children to not want to play with you happened to me too lol just cuz i happened to ask them what their age was in full english as a 4 or 5 year old kid in a jollibee playground. for some reason, they didnt want to play with me even though im just a simple tsinoy kid that time. i think that was more of a social class divide problem tho

  18. that experience about people trying to talk english to you happens sometimes to me too. for some reason, people think im supposedly korean or something since im just a tsinoy with a little more chinese blood lol. when i start using taglish, theyll just low-key realize and go on in taglish too haha
