@shadowkingd0m the philippine norm is to usually marry around age 30. the courting period with a gf or bf usually takes years, cuz we think any less is just rushing it

its not a stupid thing here, especially when people are usually conservative and sex is rare and a taboo thing. only influence from western media and the internet has made the younger generations more open to the idea

@ Lexyvil bruh, we use English, Spanish, Tagalog for numbers all interchangeably. its based on preference and context. the higher class people prefer english numbers, but then the commoner on the street or the older generations would use spanish numbers. this applies to both age and time. Tagalog numbers tend to be long and convoluted for age and time so their usually only used for counting sometimes, but its also based on person's preference

its one of those underground things no common person of the street would know about

Filipino(Tagalog) and English mixed together. people popularly call it Taglish but its not one language... not yet perhaps lol

its code-switching. people here are so comfortable with doing it that they've tended to now have it hard speaking the native language purely. many decades later, if those words people keep using will eventually be absorbed into the local language. 400 years ago, the same was done with spanish. the local language now contains a load of it in a localized version

wait till you hear bislish, hokaglish, and chavacano

yep its called codeswitching. this version is called taglish cuz they mix tagalog and english together

i think the government may have made it into 12 without it being spread to the public that much cuz they wanted to somehow control the rampant teenage pregnancies
