its funny cuz how we non koreans would think of it more like you are actually younger and korean age just makes you older

faulty system? that sounds like some sort of eurocentrism. im not from the US but we use some measurements and systems that americans use and we find it here more convenient lol. like the dating system, we use the same with the american one because thats how the structure of how we normally say the full date. it would be hard, weird, and too overly fanciful for us to use the other dating format that europeans seem to love so much.

lol both have a history with big centrisms. its why americentrism and eurocentrism are observed and found more often than other centrisms. eurocentrism started first than americentrism and its probable that americentrism was inherited or developed in reaction to eurocentrism. of course i know that the imperial system was inherited from the british empire and thats probably not the only thing they inherited. it does not matter if you think its medieval or where or who it exactly came from. to be honest, we here find the day/month/year business weird and complicated on our end. the problem is when people show off their norms to others and dont respect other societies' norms even by just being close-minded to such trivial societal differences. you keep saying you dont have anything against them but it clearly looks like you are sounding off some sort of inferiority feelings lol as if you guys have some sort of low self-esteem identity problems that need to be arrogant to others just to feel better. the americans are of course self-centered in themselves. they always talk about their own country's problems as if other people on the internet are supposed to care or as if their issues are so vital that the world will stop functioning. they refuse to show other international units and constantly name places in their country like their states so familiarly and without (,USA) beside expecting everyone to understand instantly, just to serve their american viewers and neglect their international audiences. but in all that, you dont have to stoop to their level and add to their arrogance.

what country are u from. my country has a history of being an american colony after them stealing the country at the peak of my country's revolution against the spanish empire. the americans only let go of my country because ww2 destroyed my country really bad and it was the era of decolonization or risk more rebellion. my country became a bit americanized but at least we maintain and try to stabilize a more definite identity as the future progresses

the logic of the korean age system is like, you're born so you're like level 1 lol haha then you level up every new year hahaha so an old dude is like woah high level. in my asian country, that sorta idea is also there but its not something formalized to actually be there. you just sense it passively but officially you can't say that it is unlike in northern asian countries
