  1. thing is what a lot of people from western countries dont get here is that culture around asia dont focus the marriage on sexual intimacy with your partner. the focus is the fact of companionship that at the end of the day, going to a prostitute is just someone trying to freely let in their sexual pleasures which perhaps they wouldnt otherwise sufficiently would want to ask or demand their partners to do. in other asian countries of course, it would just be straight taboo and unacceptable outright but japan's religious history is just shinto and buddhist and not much others.

  2. lol not every household does regular sex unlike western cultures. the japanese are not a special isolate case. the west just hears more about japan cuz of its global influence these days. many different times in life where sex is not available at home even in a culture that regularly does sex. the japanese at this point are just a bit more lax with it since their societal and religious history has made it a common scenario enough for some to just lean on accepting it

  3. that with a sex focused perspective as an expectation that is. in my country here around asia and other surrounding countries, marriage focuses a lot on family cohesion and solidarity. sex isnt a priority. mostly after a couple establishes a family along with extended family, its just some rare naughty thing that people rarely get into if it pops into mind and if they do, they do it very secretly. our schools even think twice of including or not including the word sex under the lower most basic needs in the maslow's hierarchy of needs lol since its not so much of an accepted normal thing.

  4. the thing with stress relievers is just like food variety. everyone has different options especially these days to entertain themselves. saying prostitution is necessary is like saying beer is a necessary option to pick for every one's meal. point is people have many different options on the platter but the platter could be withdrawn too but since some have already tasted and crave for such tastes, they try to find it again if taken away. in a culture where such an option was never presented and thus, someone never at the very least normally tastes it, it is not unheard of that this person does not end up looking for alcoholic beverages or prostitution.
