its not the people thats causing problems. its the PRC government who is land grabbing. taiwan is republic of china too and both taiwan and philippines dont hate each other.

@haruzanfuucha what does what taiwan's past government did in the past in the mainland have to do with the mainland china's current actions against its neighbors. whichever party that rules mainland china or taiwan wouldnt determine whos doing the claims and actions against everyone in the south seas. if the roles were reversed and kmt was in mainland and taiwan had prc, the same statement will still apply except i wouldve been saying the kmt government of mainland

most countries' neighbors always hate each other because border friction is always bound to happen. usually its the non neighbors or the neighbor of the neighbor that is friends with a country because they are enemy of my enemy to the bordering country

thats why filipino is in the call center industry, just like indians

invasion? lol they are using Filipino(Tagalog) and English. spanish loanwords have already been part of the local language, fused with Tagalog to make Filipino language from 333 years of spanish colonial times. English is used separately and sometimes being fused as part of informal speech since its been taught academically since american colonial period. all foreign loanwords are spelled and spoken in the filipino orthography as per the growth of the language. english does this too especially with its norman french latin influenced words.

its because tomas cloma decided to develop those islands some decades ago when he decided to build guano factories and a small barangay there which at one point he declared an independent micronation called freedomland. pres marcos soon arrested him tho and forced him to give the islands to our country. thats why its called kalayaan islands because tomas cloma called it freedomland

@markjustineherrera444 lol mga drug cartels yan galing sa latin america

portuguese?? that is tagalog/filipino and english. tagalog/filipino itself used to be mixed with spanish. never portuguese. you must be referring to indonesians
1
@life_is_a_myth indonesia's colonial history is actually complicated since its such a big place. many places in indonesia were colonized first by portuguese then the dutch came over and took them out to establish the dutch east indies. the british also took the portuguese out to set up their rule in malaysia. some islands in indonesia around the maluku islands also used to be former portuguese that got attacked by spaniards from the philippines but soon the dutch came and strengthened their rule. this is why indonesian languages like bahasa indonesia both have a lot of portuguese and dutch loanwords

@miked884 its no longer spanish. it used to be spanish but ever since local spanish vocabulary was filipinized using filipino orthography, meaning, and pronunciation which were officially included in filipino dictionaries, tagalog and many other regional dialects have transformed previous local creoles into official language. in tagalog's case, that is called "Filipino". for example, words like basta, siguro, and many others have a different meaning and sometimes spelling in the filipino language rather than in standard spanish overseen by the real academia española

there are many people who just ride public sentiment. the people in indonesia and malaysia are even worse at hating local chinese people. at least here in philippines, it is not as worse. this is coming from a chinese-filipino myself living here in manila, but ur prc government and rude mainlander tourist sometimes cause more annoying discrimination remarks against us.
1
they are using 2 languages. it is Filipino(Tagalog) + English which is informally called Taglish. Filipino(Tagalog) itself from 100 years ago also used a lot of Spanish but that spanish is officially part of the language now.
1
they not racist against chinese. just racist against prc mainlander government who is doing the provocations. i am chinese-filipino myself and the only racist thing i heard is the rare question directed at me about what ur prc government is doing. indonesia and malaysia are even worse at being racist to chinese but here not really as much. just annoyance that the local dumb politician tweets about local chinese because of what mainlander government does
1
maybe we should import chinese maids too so we dont take you seriously too...
1
Sayang is the same too
1
@joeland.4050 theres a rarer interjection that retains the meaning. bahasa melayu has it still, in the same way it also has the meaning you are referring to
1
pls dont lump together mainlander tourist and shady businessmen with local chinese-filipino residents and businessmen who have been here for centuries just like anybody
1
"no proficiency" hahaha where did you get that idea from? the commoner filipino on the streets may not do it or struggle a bit but any educated filipino may speak pure english or pure filipino if they want to since its required in school subjects
