lol singapore, uae, and other gulf countries all have one thing in common. they are small city states controlling major trade route choke points...

i think its an indirect relation that causes this relationship. the non tropical countries, geographically speaking, there's more countries in non tropical lands with more habitable human friendly environments rather than tropical areas where theres more hostile environments. in south america, you got the amazon and the andes mountains. in africa, you got the jungles of subsaharan africa and the sahel and saharan desert. in southeast asia, you also got jungles. also, in turn, there's more resources more easily attainable in colder/temperate climate regions

overpopulation isnt bad per se. it just means it may hint some overcapacity that the economy might not handle well but if u can handle the load of the population expansion, its good actually. the rate just needs to balance out on the jobs which it is slowly balancing out. others are expanding to other countries which is good for the philippines because many of them will remit back new found wealth, perhaps not so good for the people of those countries but good for the philippines lol

actually, singapore has a very nice geographic location. 1/4 of the world's trade goes through the malacca strait which is primarily serviced by singapore. uae is also on a primary chokepoint on the persian gulf

corruption is a phantom problem that exists in every country. the only difference is variation in rates, which its main factors are symptoms of other problems. people been yapping since for decades about it, not like yapping about it would do anything. its like yapping about prevalence of disease thats always been a fact of life. hospitals exist, just as an office of the ombudsman exists. not like it'll ever fully go away.
