thailand is basically an example of a centralized Mandala evolving in full power grappling around all its peripheries as Bangkok is the heart core. other neighboring states are like this too, like Manila in the Philippines, Jakarta in Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Yangon in Myanmar, and Vietnam has both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

you can all argue about how major the other cities of your Asean countries are, but you can already see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primate_city#Asia that all the major capitals of Asean countries are all majorly led by their capitals, with the others just being secondary, besides maybe Vietnam who halfed it into two major ones.

@rozakfassah7730 yeah theres pros and cons to it. good things like everything is centralized at the heart of an important basin but bad things like u put everything in one basket and the peripheries develop slower, but if u put ur eggs in many baskets maybe the whole country will also develop slower. it depends really how the good urban development strategy works depending on the geography and other factors
