Cs go giveaway Guy anyone from southeast asian countries living in another southeast asian country can be mistaken as a local but as someone from the philippines, she looks more like someone from mainland southeast asia indochina area than maritime southeast asia. she doesnt look very austronesian nor a chinese-austronesian-eurasian mix which these are the usual groups of people in maritime southeast asian countries

Gabriel Rodriguez i am chinese filipino myself and have studied chinese at school for most of my days. People here seem to sometimes think i am korean or japanese because of what i look or my family name. I dont know about latin america but in the philippines, there was a colonial decree that natives that didnt have last names be given spanish family names. native americans although closer to asians than europeans are as far and unique enough on their own from asians. ive not read up on physical characteristics though.

@GabrielRodriguez-um8fi yes during 1850, there was a colonial decree by Gov-Gen. Narciso Claveria in the philippines to distribute surnames to everyone with no surname or surname only starting from 3 generations back, so people had to pick from a book or few pages where most of the options were spanish surnames and a few placenames with only a few local surnames from local languages or sanskrit or hokkien. naturally, most of the populace picked a spanish surname because spaniards before had tax exemptions and certain privileges so it was a no-brainer to pick a spanish surname to be able to pretend as someone with spanish descent although at that point, there were no more tax exemptions and extra privileges for spaniards anyways

Noah Hill its understandable in SEA to have some chinese ancestry. specifically south chinese ancestry since south chinese regions usually have a history of being trading merchants and artisans that move around SEA. of course we can't know for sure with people if what they claim is really true about their family history or just them claiming what they want to believe but no doubt there is a good amount of south chinese partial mixing around SEA.
