ha lol no way we trust those things to scrub those dishes hahahaha

@BlownMacTruck its quite a big shocker for a youtuber like greg who's only been to first world countries. this probably like fire to him and he must be keeping himself so hard from the shock inside him to maintain his calm commentaries

helios396 nah man theres that too but its as simple as every one of us in asia eats rice every day so dry bits of rice gets stuck on the plate which wouldn't get washed off if a dishwasher just sprayed soap and water on it so its more reliable really to scrub them up on your own if one really wants a nice and clean plate
8
now that i think about it. it seems like its really in the filipino dna to travel and remain an employee, but hey they've been doing this ever since a millennia ago around southeast asian Lucoes trading ships

i think the reason why she has to wake up at 3am is cuz she lives in antipolo so shes very very far from her workplace thats why she has to do it hours before to consider the travel time shes gonna expect
2
yeah. in my country, we have a tropical climate so sometimes when we take a bit long eating or when the food is just left on the table spinner covered by like a food cover the sticky rice sticks on the plate then when it dries and hardens later, it gets stuck and you have to scrub it off. this happens too with dried sauce. some cheap food establishments or maids when they wash dishes sometimes they just coat the dishes in soap then spray them with water. what you get after that when you pull them clean dishes out again are plates with a little rough dried tiny rice bits camouflaged on your white plates

this feels like an ad. i guess it is

it would take longer and be more tiring, but having to wait for people to get the vehicle running to full capacity under squeeze is another problem. Manila is in fact, holds the number 1 rank in cities with the most population density
1
@minim6981 Manila is the core of Metro Manila. all other cities and municipalities around it only scale down the density of an otherwise already extremely dense area, it is why other cities within metro manila are also included in the top list of densest cities in the world. she lives in Antipolo and went to megamall at mandaluyong just next to manila. if she goes to manila itself instead say at tondo. she would have had to wake up at 2am instead if she really wants to be early and on time. we cannot deny or hide the grueling travel conditions within our metropolis, especially those that live on the edges of ncr and have to travel further inwards or the otherside. metro manila is on the scale as other metropolitan zones of bigger and more richer countries. heck, metro manila in terms of population is a rank higher than the new york metropolitan area, with all other metropolitan zones higher to it being from tech giants like japan, south korea, or pop giants like china, india, and indonesia. if metro manila is to sustain its urban growth, it has to similarly develop its transport infrastructure to keep up

i think he mostly went to the poor parts of residences

@delmonte4824 sadly

security guards and guardhouses or checkpoints are a very very normal thing in the philippines, you need not fret. its not an unusual thing to be checked every day by a security guard who's sometimes carrying an unloaded shotgun on his chest which most 99% of the time he will never use
1
lol even the wealthy here do not use dish washers or at least very rarely. we're asians hahaha. we do not trust a dish washer that just throws water and soap on dishes in a rack to clean our dishes reliably...
1
they brought him to divisoria, quiapo, tondo and all the poor wet markets. greg has to experience fire from living in all first world life. other parts of metro manila are ok enough and not as trashy as these places. japan in itself is up the highest standard of cleanliness as a country in asia. there will be more culture shock when one gets to some neighboring countries that are even poorer than the philippines which in itself is only like the 3rd or 4th place in southeast asia as a country.
1
the glass on top of the wall and the barbed wire wall outside house properties are intentionally not for safety. its for security to keep out any would-be robber. every house property in the philippines has a security perimeter to deter robbers. the poor make do with these. the rich have high walls and gates with electric shock wires on top of walls and cameras. the children themselves can be robbers, especially those from poor desperate backgrounds. rich children would not be playing outside in places like that.
1
some people just do overnight stays in the workplace too
1
lol u aint seen nothing if u think this is the poorest. this is normal convenience for other neighbors more poorer
1
hmm seems to be no problem from where im from. only thing different might be they prefer the left.
1
a dirty kitchen? outdoor kitchen? what is that? pangkatulong ba yan? never seen it elsewhere in anybody else's house here. maybe people'll use seldomly for outdoor grill parties or what
1
lol if you're east asian like chinese mainlander, taiwanese, japanese, korea, all you would think about philippines, or southeast asia in general, is bananas. in the americas in the US and canada, all you would see the philippines would be pineapples, mangoes, and coconuts...
1
lol the japanese visitor wouldnt feel as home as a north american visitor because decades ago, japanese tourists did come here to the philippines solely because it was part of the US and had an american vibe. now that its independent, they now go to guam for that...
1
@emikogarcia6687 sa japan kasi, maraming train at lakad kaya talagang kaya mong makarating after traversing the labrynth of train lines doon pero sa rush hour super full din palagi mga tren
1
lol i wont sleep at all if thats my schedule. though i have given to the temptation before to at least get 3-4 hours of sleep, in the hope maybe i do wake up
1
thats not a barangay hall. thats just a covered court for sports like basketball. a lot of barangays just have one near the barangay hall which is more like a building
1
maybe northeast indian are similar to burmese too
1
was the grammar in google translate alright for japanese? it seems only echo's speech recognition that's not too great.

transpo in metro manila is very diverse. riding the UV express is just one thing that depends on a person's route. sometimes u never ride the UV like I almost never do. sometimes, u take either the train(MRT/LRT), bus, jeepney, tricycle, pedicab, grab/uber/angkas etc. depends on what part of the city or which city in the metropolis
1
its the cost of becoming a highly developed metropolis. other cities in other provinces will probably be next too like metro davao
