  1. Long droughts and monsoon-like rains seem to be our future. The ground cannot absorb that much precipitation. We all need large reservoirs, retention basins and cisterns. This is not in conflict with the conservation of groundwater. The farmers are of course desperate, that's no reason to look for different solutions. The EU should take care of it, it concerns us all. Climate change is forcing us to use more artificial irrigation. If we want to continue to eat healthy and regionally in the future, the farmers must be supported.
