@professional.commentator The major cities, the majority of which are deep blue, would make the choice every time. The vast majority of towns and cities would have no say. Ever. Small towns may as well not even vote in that scenario. The EC is the most genius form of voting, especially for such an enormous country. The vote of a person in small town in Iowa matters just as much as the vote of someone from LA. We are supposed to be states first. So you decide on a state level first. That makes the most sense.

@southsideschooloffinancial4059 No, only the big cities would count. The entire interior of the country's vote would not count. Entire states would be ignored. Most of them. Also, candidates would only cater to those in the biggest cities because it would only be their vote that mattered. It would be a tyranny of the majority. And again, we are the United STATES. States...that are united. We vote as a state for that position. Popular vote by the state to pick who represents each state. The needs of ND are far different than the needs of NY. The needs of OH are far different from CA. Each state should get a say. They do in the current system.

This was very different. KH replaced the nominee during an election. Ford replaced AFTER the election. Primary ballots do not have VP picks. Ppl seem to think that just because she is VP now from last election, that she should be able to replace him in an ELECTION. A new election.
