@Cyclone718 you can't be serious. Nobody has actually said the words open borders, but all of the suggested policies of several Democrats are open borders. -decriminalize border crossing(Warren, Sanders, Harris, Yang, Castro, Buttigieg, Booker) -abolish ICE -tear down existing fences -give illegal immigrants healthcarr -no new facilities or added beds to hold the huge growth in illegal crossings so keep them in crowded facilities is a better idea apparently(how very caring they are) or the most likely idea here is to just release them into the country -stop deportation -path to citizenship...that is 22 MILLION people(line jumping in front of people who came legally...classy) -say secure borders while not giving any solutions to do it..because they don't want to. They're pandering to voters who want secure borders. Etc.

@dystopiagear6999 What you layed out is not capitalism. It is corruption. Capitalism is an economy. Not a corrupted government. We actually haven't had true capitalism in a long time. Capitalism requires a free market. We don't have a free market. We've had corporatism from capitalism in economy and corruption in government. Corporations buy off our politicians. They keep them from enforcing the monopoly laws and have them put in regulations that stop the little guys. Capitalism is why you have that device you're commenting on. It's why you have an abundance of food at your grocery store, vehicles, Netflix, etc.

@jones1351 identity politics can be found across all of history, in all lands, perpetrated by all peoples. I agree with the other guy though. Obama heightened it in a disastrous way. Races are at odds in a way that they weren't before him. It's been "white man bad" since his presidency.

@Cyclone718 Border patrol doesn't go inland and deport ppl. The person who said tear down existing fences was Beto There are over 22 million illegal immigrants estimated by Yale to be in the US. Thinking that there won't be "many who need care' or who want care is asinine. Health, dental, eye, etc. Why wouldn't they take and use it? Sorry. Silly argument. They already use our hospitals for their healthcare because they because can't be turned away so our costs go up. They DO NOT contribute more than tbey take. They cost over 120 billion dollars every single year. This is AFTER what they contribute. It is a myth that Americans don't want to do the typical immigrant job. Legal Americans hold more jobs in these sectors than illegals. In places, like the chicken plants, that have a bunch of illegals found working, there is a big line of Americans who show up for a job the next day. Yes, there are a lot of overstays but there are still a mass of them over the borders as well and doesn't mean that you should let one flow because it doesn't allow as much. That's asinine. There are a few hundred thousand every single year. "Elite tax breaks"-most Americans got a tax break actually. I'd rather have a tax break than a tax hike like Bernie will do.

@edebs6243 Most of your comment about the government and imperialism is absolutely correct. The oroblem lies in the government itself. Not capitalism. I'm curious then why you would want to grow and strengthen the government by give them more power over the people with a socialistic/communistic system. You see the clear issue with our government. It's too big. It has too much power. Too much corruption. We need to take power away, not give them more authority over our lives. We need them out of our lives.
