@newsduke Dude you keep talking about the economy under Obama getting better all over this comment section. We were coming out of a recession so OF COURSE it got better. It could only go up at that point. It was actually one of the slowest recoveries in history.

@newsduke Businesses are going to fire ppl and give less hours to tbeir employees and/or raise prices on their products. Small businesses have to. They don't just have a pocket full of cash to shell out in extra employee costs. They work within budgets. Their business models are built around those budgets. So are corporations and large businesses. They just won't eat that cost. Is it really a minimum wage hike if all goods and services increase to keep up with their employee costs? They said 900k ppl will be lifted out of poverty with a 15$ min. Wage...they didn't tell you the more important part. 1.4m will be unemployed. Also, this is a federal raise. Imagine living in a small town somewhere where your economy is COMPLETELY different than NYC and other such places and all of a sudden, with a snap of the fingers, everything almost doubles? Use your critical thinking skills. Government does not fix problems. They exacerbate and create new ones.

@newsduke "whenever the minimum wage goes up .." Yes, COSTS go up. On everything. And then think of ppl who make 15$ right now in places where the minimum wage is lower. Maybe they have been there longer than otbers and worked hard, maybe learned skills to get paid better. All of a sudden they get paid what everyone else is being paid and all costs just went up. You just brought some ppl up...to which they will actually just be the same since costs of everything will rise to meet it...and brought the ppl who were making more down. This is gonna devastate many ppl.

Studies show that on average, wealth for Americans increased 17% while it increased 54% for the bottom half of Americans. You bash him/Republicans for giving the rich more tax breaks than the rest. He gave almoat everyone a tax break. Several thousand dollars a year, on average, for middle class ppl. The alternative is the left who wants to RAISE your taxes. Literally raise. Campaigned on it! (And Im not a Democrat or Republican)

Have whatever issue you want with the man, I don't care. I'm not here to defend his Presidency. The topic is the taxes and economy under his administration. My comment was relaying the fact that wealth increased for almost all Americans under Trump. Full stop. 54% for the bottom half of us. 17% average for all of us. I never disputed that more went to the top, but noted that as a whole we all gained more wealth. Fact. On tbe other hand, Biden literally wants to RAISE our taxes. One guy lowered them a little and the new one wants to raise them. Ill stick with the small decrease, even if richer ppl got more of a decrease. Decrease is always better than increase. "only 19% live in poverty" means zero to what I said. It's placement in tbis conversation makes no sense.

@PaulA-ns9te Also, while Im here, let it be noted that the ppl at the top are the ones who pay most of the taxes to begin with so spare me. The 1% pay 39% of all income taxes. The 10% pay 69%. The top 50% pay 96%. The lower half pay 3%. This does not even include the people who pay zero percent. The bottom half are a net negative as they take more in programs than they pay in. Their average tax rate is 4% while the 1% average tax rate is 27%. The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent).

Exactly John! Tbey wil be exactly where they are now, but the ppl who already made 15$ or more (for learning a trade, working longer and having more experience, etc) will be brought down by this. This is the planned continuation of destroying the middle class.

They want to make illegal crossings not a crime. Etc. These all together are essentially open borders. Dont be daft.

They want jobs! As these farm processing centers are getting busted for illegals working there, they get lines of citizens coming for a job! Many of them being black Americans because they are hurt more than anyone by illegal immigration. Also, you can look at the numbers. Most of those "bad, dirty" jobs that are thought to be done mostly by illegal immigrants are actually done by citizens. I am sorry, but you are wrong in all of this.

In Ohio, it is mandatory to take a finance class to graduate now...I wish all states did this. It is only a half credit though. Should be a full year class.
