  4.  @personaldove  Dude, he thought if he crossed the Atlantic, he would end up in Asia. It was his "quicker route" to India. He was wrong and there was a land mass in the way. The Americas. They didn't know it was there and it doesn't even make sense in context because he thought he would land in India. Him finding this new land is what started the exploration of the lands.

  7.  @personaldove  The Vikings found it yes, but they did not write it down. They did not share this. Discover means to make known. He made it known that there is land here. Columbus was let off in the end because it was diacovered that the guy who said ahit against him was a liar. Then they went for him and let Columbus go. That guy died on the voyage back.
