@christianholmes7993 Tracy's example was a good example. She is talking g about when they passed a rent moratorium. That means renters don't pay. So, the landlords (almost half of which are just regular people) went to getting $0 for their property that they have to pay for (mortgage, maintenance and upkeep...which increased in cost, taxes, etc)

 @indepthmike5578 And such a hike in minimum wage will cause even MORE inflation so those economics classes would come in handy for them to know that what they want will make it worse.

@JustMarty "living wage" is a ridiculous term. Not every job is the same, not the same level of importance, takes the same skill, etc. If those people want to be paid more, they should learn skills or move up the ladder at the job they have or the type of work they're in. People who started out as McDs workers have ended up owning their own. The issue today is that nobody wants to work up to anything. They just want to make top dollar right out of the gate. That is asinine. It has always taken work to do this. The ones willing to make the right choices were the ones who succeeded most. We need to get out of this asinine idea of everything handed to us that has destroyed us and get back to the work ethic that made this country great before.

@ejp9405 Restaurants have low profit margins. Especially small business restaurants. It is one of the most volatile businesses to start. They do not have the money. Big chains may, but that will be all that is left because small businesses do not have the money.
