@According_To_Matt Why would you keep spending time in another country without learning their language? At least enough to get around. Heck, I'd try to learn some basics if I was just going once for vacation. She/he worked there. Over and over. And knew she/he would keep going back. (Until this, of course) It would just make sense to learn it. Nothing to do with us or them "making" her/him.

@ellis7622 Nobody said anything about obligation. It would just make sense and be the most logical thing to do. She/he worked there over and over and over. And until this, likely had plans to keep going back, over and over. Wouldn't you learn some basics just to go on vacation? I would. I think most would. But then to keep working there, for years, that's just silly not to. I know a guy who keeps going to Japan for his job. Every so often he goes for a few days. He keeps learning more and more Japanese. 🤷🏻‍♀️
