@christianlong-lo3jm God, you ppl always say this. This would probably be fine for large chains. Maybe. Food costs would definitely go up. However, this could absolutely close small business restaurants. The profit margin for restaurants is low. Also, it would just be forced tips because the food will increase in cost to cover the new cost of service. And you can't opt out if your service was bad like you can now. Also, most waitresses would be against that idea because they can still make more in tips than they would if they just got an increase in wages.

@xenosayain1506 You would be just be paying more for your food. Restaurants have low profit margin. That's why so many fail. It is one of the worst businesses to try. That would destroy most small business restaurants. And you'd be paying more for the food, so you'd be "tipping" by force. No matter the service. Also, most waitresses would be against that. Most make more in tips than they would if the wage was more. They just have to deal with some ppl who don't tip. Doesn't mean nobody is tipping. It is just a terrible idea.

@xenosayain1506 It's a tipped business. We all know this. It is expected. Lol You are paying either way. You're either tipping based on your opinion of service and what is fair or you're being forced to pay due to the increase in the meal costs so the business can pay this new increase in costs. So, you'd rather be forced to pay and not according to your opinion of what is fair. That makes no sense. And in the end, the waitresses get less...so less will do the job. And their will be less restaurants because small businesses won't be able to incur the costs. The loss of businesses will be bad for the towns they're in. This makes no sense. Actions of consequences. This one would have a domino effect.

@alexblaze8878 Yeah, my husband and I tip the Vegas waitresses well. That's how you get quick, good service. They'll make sure your drink is always full. They take care of their tippers. We tip for every drink and sometimes a $100 chip.

@deboraballes9044 I despise the places that share tips between servers. That is 100% wrong. The best waitresses are being penalized and the worst get rewarded. Ppl should get the tips they earned.

@carlosz7208 Food costs would rise and you'd be "tipping" by force then. Restaurants have low profit margins so a ton of small business restaurants would close. They wouldn't be able to cover it. Chain restaurants would probably be fine, but again, we'd be paying for it in food costs. Also, in big restaurants, waitresses would make less. They make good money with tips. I think you'd find most waitresses being against the idea.
