@cassiescornerreviews6884 Lies. and nonsense. That IS what they're teaching. Go learn about the curriculum being discussed in this very video.

@thenonexistinghero Exactly. The intention is to create activists that can be used to gain power. That is all.😅

@ReemTahir There is absolutely FAR too much administration. You are correct about that. The increase in admin positions and money going towards it has skyrocketed in the last few decades.

@4FYTfa8EjYHNXjChe8xs7xmC5pNEtz Exactly. And we have terrible outcomes. Only a third of graduates can read proficiently. Only 12% are proficient in American History. (Explains a lot, right?) Math and Science are just as bad. The schools with the highest budgets, the inner city ones you talked about, have the worst outcomes of all. $ doesn't fix it. It is the system itself.
5
@ReemTahir Then, you have the issue of not being able to fire poor performing teachers. For example, New York City’s $150 million annual budget goes to paying teachers who have been disqualified from teaching yet cannot be fired. In no other professional occupation is the risk of dismissal for poor performers so low. Teachers are rewarded by years worked, not performance (this was fought for by teachers unions) so they don't have to perform well.

@ReemTahir Participants in the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) list their activities in detailed time diaries. The diaries capture work time wherever and whenever it may occur. Using the ATUS, we find that teachers work an average of 40.6 hours during the work week, compared to 42.4 hours for private-sector professionals. Over a full calendar year including vacations, teachers work at most 83% as many hours as private-sector professionals.
4
@ReemTahir the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking inquires about financial well-being. Among teachers in the survey, 81% said they are either “doing okay” or “living comfortably,” while only 2.7% of teachers describe their financial situation as “finding it hard to get by.” Teachers are just as likely as other college graduates to say they are better off than their parents were at the same age, equally satisfied with the neighborhoods that they live in, and no more likely to be carrying student debt.

@Frederick0220 Exactly

@ReemTahir As as Utah above stated, the disrespect is WELL earned. Look what they're doing. Look what they are pushing for and voting for.
3
@ReemTahir They're paid more than other SIMILAR jobs. When they change jobs, they, on average, take a pay cut. This doesn't even take into account their very generous benefits and pension plans. They receive benefits equal to 45% their annual wages. This is over double private sector jobs. They often go on to do a second job during their ample vacation time and make even more money for the year.
3
@ReemTahir It is more likely that workers in public education are on average overpaid, in the sense that they could not earn as much in the private sector. Studies of teachers who switch jobs and comparisons of teaching to other occupations with the same BLS skill requirements suggest that the teacher wage penalty is close to zero. If that is true, then incorporating fringe benefits as measured in the NIPA would boost total teacher compensation about 18% above private-sector levels. This premium comes before adding the value of job security and the predictability of regular raises, which economic theory predicts would be offset by lower wages.

@grospipo20 You guys have already tried that one. 😂 It isn't history that they're teaching. It is propaganda to create activists. Go learn what it was they were teaching those kids.
1
@tangreen7267 Exactly. Cassie is a propagandist. Or 🤖. She is still in the "it isn't happening" stage while everyone knows it is. There is countless examples. Countless quotes of teachers, schools, quotes from teacher union leaders, etc proving it.

@cassiescornerreviews6884 What an asinine comment. Republicans are the ones who want basic subjects to be taught. They're the ones wanting critical thinking skills taught. You show your bias and ignorance in every comment, it seems.

With great benefits and ample vacation time.
