@teebone2157 It doesn't matter what is happening now. The entire idea is to allow it to everyone. To change the system.

@Jomama542 Public schools get around 14-15k per student on count day. (It varies from state to state) Private schools, on average, cost less than that. The idea is for the voucher to be what would be given to the public school if they were there. Which is more than the cost of private schools, on average.

Lowest paying? They're not underpaid. They're paid more than ppl with similar jobs. And they get far more vacation time. Many use that time to work and make more. They also get great benefits.
2
And they're some of the highest funded...

@NoOneCaresIckyThump Your point about unions making it difficult to fire bad ones is also true. Just in NY, they spend millions of dollars a year to pay teachers who don't even work. They can't be fired, so they just pay them to not work.

Well said.

@ToniGeiselman Then say you don't mean teachers in your comment.

@Ranger-z4g Yes, she is terrible, too. Sunny is the absolute worst though. I have a hard time listening to her.

@sgv3750 There is nothing substantial behind her change of opinions. She went from agreeing with the other ladies at the table on everything to starting to push back immediately after the election. Her opinions change depending on popular opinion.

@l.w.paradis2108 Never allows anyone to speak, just keeps speaking over them, only has a tone of condescension, etc.
1
@sueannnatter5295 I have the opposite experience. It is women who act that way
1
Yep! Condescension is the only tone she knows, too.

Alyssa couldn't even say anything. Sunny talks over everyone and never lets anyone get a word in.

Exactly.

@stewiesaidthat Each school is paid per student on count day, around 15k. On average, private school tuition costs less than that. If the school is losing students, that is incentivizing them to do better. And if they cannot do better, it should be closed.
1
@nicksherman1713 Exactly. And there is no incentive to do better. They're paid regardless. More and more and more.
1
@NoOneCaresIckyThump Exactly. Look at Baltimore. Some of the highest funded schools and none can pass math.
1
@nicksherman1713 Well said!

@stewiesaidthat If they wanted to fix it, they'd have fixed it decades ago. I stead, it gets worse. If you deprive the schools of money by taking students out, the school has to improve to retain students and money. Currently, there is no incentive. SC gives them that incentive. Stop the monopoly. I homeschooled mine. And I paid for all of yours, actually.
1
@RtistkqSkubie Yes, exactly.
