  1. Exactly! And also, progressive tax is economic discrimination. One group is being punished for working harder and making more. You would think the group of Offended Olympic champions would see that since they think literally everything is discrimination. We should have a LOW, flat tax. Income tax is theft of out labor so it ahould be zero or low for all. Most of US history had no income taxes. We are now brainwashed into thinking the government stealing our labor is good while they overspend and misspend.

  2.  @grubbybum3614  The rich pay more in a flat tax as well. Giving two sets of people different tax rates is not a fair tax plan. They're being punished just because they make more. It isn't the rich's responsibility to take care of the rest of us. It is economic discrimination to give them different rates.

  3. I believe everyone should pay a flat income tax(and it should be low. Having different groups of people pay different amounts is wrong. The "pay their fair share" argument these people use is ridiculous. The top earners would still be paying much more than the rest of us. It's economic discrimination. Also, these people are naive if they think the much higher taxes would only go to the rich. We would get our great tax hike right behind them.

  5.  @continuousself-improvement1879  Except the last part I don't agree with uou on...I see this as people getting drinks for free and cheap on man 10 and they all get a tax cut that helps them(one even goes to free) and they get pissed because his savings was more...but that's because he is carrying all ten people! I see this story as the opposite of what uou think it shows. I see a bunch of whiny free loaders getting pissed because someone got a bigger reduction while he is still paying most of the bill.

It's their business. They will pay more because they make more in a flat tax, but a progressive tax is just punishing people who make more just because they make more. That's ridiculous.   11.  @seemlesslies  No, the top percent is changing all the time. People go in it and come back out of it. To be rich, it is a ton of hard work. All day, every day. It is also a lot of risk taking. Making risky investments and spending. Making risky decisions in your business or idea. Also, having an idea is not just getting lucky. They had an idea! Lol It is very deserving. Also, it takes risk, planning, a lot of hard work, and good decision making to make that idea into something. You seem clueless and misguided as to how these people get to be as successful as they are. The disdain you seem to have comes off as very jealous. Don't be jealous. You should think that it is great that people can be very successful if they work for it.....and these people definitely do work for it.

Our government really needs to be taken down to the 1800 era size. Just what's needed. All these departments that are just about being in control of more of our lives need to go.

Why would anyone work their asses off and invent and su h if they're gonna make just as much as everyone else? Why go to school and whatnot for 8+ years to be a Dr? Why spend a lot of your own money to invent and innovate? Income inequality just means that each of us have choices.

The rich are most often where many jobs are coming from. It is proven that anyone of any race, sex, etc. Can be out of poverty by doing three things. Graduate from high school, wait till marriage for children (the later the better), and have a full time job. That's all. There is also the issue of money mismanagement that keeps people poor. It is not the fault of people who worked their ass off their whole life and took major risks to get where they are.

The government should be taken down to the size it was originally and only sales tax, excise tax, etc. Taxing income is theft of labor. But since that won't happen, 10-15% flat tax for all would be the way to go. And as you said, MAJOR reform on the government.

If you care, build a company, work your ass off, take big risks, make good decisions for all the employees below you, etc. and you too can have a large salary.
