@TheRedemptionRain The same group your comment mentioned. Only a few countries were paying the agreed upon 2% of GDP until DT pushed for more to do so. (Still a bunch that aren't) As for the percentage of the whole, us and Germany pay the most. And we also pay in indirect things. This is all available on their website and on any news site.

Sending of troops, weapons, etc. And in their own words, the Alliance relies on the United States for the provision of some essential capabilities, regarding for instance, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; air-to-air refuelling; ballistic missile defence; and airborne electromagnetic warfare." Also, the entire point of the required percentage to their defense is so that, if stuff goes down, they help each other, and each is ready and prepared. Us, wayyyyy outfunding everyone else, who will contribute the most? You know the answer.

@mignik01 It isn't just money. We contribute a ton. In their own words, "the Alliance relies on the United States for the provision of some essential capabilities, regarding for instance, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; air-to-air refuelling; ballistic missile defence; and airborne electromagnetic warfare." Our spending here directly helps the whole. And the entire point of it is ensure readiness if there's an issue amongst one or more of the countries. Who will fund the most when that happens in equipment, money, etc? Us.

@mignik01 And? "The alliance relies on the US" for all of those things I stated, and more. Those are things we pay for and everyone uses. Intelligence, for instance, costs a lot. So does surveillance. So does BMD. Etc etc. The very fact that we spend so much helps all of them. And we spend the most to fund the organization itself. They even say so themselves that we contribute the most in all areas of it.

@mignik01 What are you even arguing? At no point did I say we shouldn't be a part of it. You said "nobody foots the bill." That is what I replied to. That is why my comments have all been about who is footing the bill.
