  10. Between Caspian Report and Good Times Bad Times I have like zero reasons to ever listen to the MSM about ANYTHING about geopolitics. But anyway, I feel very pessimistic about the chances of a much wider conflict than I did a month ago. Finland joining is going to send Russia over the edge. There's no available off-ramp for Russia any more, and given their war doctrine, I expect escalation at some point in the future. We're pretty much already at war, only a matter of time before it turns kinetic unfortunately.

  13. It's so easy to see both viewpoints, and that's an odd thing about this conflict to me. Usually desires and views are murky, and up for debate. But its so obvious what both countries fears are here. Personally I don't see any kind of easy solution and that's what's scary. Honestly I think Ukraine should turn into a second Austria, and promise to never join NATO or align with the East. Also this is going to lead to more nuclear proliferation. How could it not? Countries are going to look at the situation and think "if Ukraine had nukes, they'd have no fear here" and then try to acquire nukes themselves.

  17. I have zero interest getting into any kind of conflict with China, and that includes Taiwan. It's not fair, it's not right, but people really underestimate what a China US conflict would look like. Zero interest. As time goes on the US and China are going to have to get along, the alternative is so terrible they have no choice imo.

  21. The only thing that gives me comfort is how intertwined our economies are. Any conflict with us will decimate their (and our) economies. I know how badly they want Taiwan back, but I think for now the negatives far outweigh the positives for them. Ukraine had to change their thinking at least a little bit too.
