  1. The Philippines was still a colony of Spain (for 400 YEARS!) and America (for 50 years) when China claimed sovereignty over the reefs and shoals in the South China Sea.

  2.  @andrewmosqueda  what is communist about china? i'm living in china and it is the most capitalistic country i have ever seen, the money worshipping culture is more widespread in china than in the west and people are crazy about businesses and property ownership in china, there is nothing communist about it. i think europe is more communist than china if you look at their social system of high taxation and high welfares. the tax is low in china and social welfare is also minimum, you make money to support yourself, it's capitalistic from every angle.

The UN armies led by the US couldn't defeat China in the Korean War when China was still an agrarian nation 72 years ago, how can you expect the US to defeat China in a modern warfare today when China is the most industrialized nation on earth in terms of industrial capacities? The Pentagon confessed that China's shipbuilding capacity is 200 times that of the US a couple of weeks ago.

  5. China wants to invest in the Philippines but the Philippines has a very demanding requirement for foreign investment and very strict labour laws, which deter foreign investors not only the Chinese investors. China invests tremendously in Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia instead.
