  2. liberated Asia? which country in Asia was asking Japan to "liberate" itself? Did China ask Japan to "liberate" itself? China always thought Japan as an ungragetful thief who always copied China in the ancient time and just became industrialized after switching to copying Europe since the 1860s. Chinese people (who had long been the superpower for 2000 years until the 19th century) didn't think the Japanese (who were still hunter-and-garther society until the 7th century when they started to mass copy China) as superior, they just thought the Japanese always copied the advanced civilizations at different times. China fell behind in the 19th century because it was complacent and not willing to learn from the West who rose thanks to the Industrial Revolution that was taking place there and China's old empire ego prevented itself from learning from others and was left behind, therefore Japan got the chance to invade China. In the past 2000 years before the Industrial Revolution, Japan didn't have the chance. Today China is also industrialized and regaining the superpower status, Japan is pushed back to its former status in the traditional East Asia order.
