  5. I lived in Shenzhen for 2 years in 2012-2014, back then it was green, hi-tech and average clean, not as clean as it is now, now it is simply spotless! The same applies to other Chinese cities and towns, they become so clean in the last 10 years. I think this is the biggest visual change apart from the more widespread hi-tech applications in comparison to 10 years. Chinese cities were already very green 10 years ago.

  6. @ yes, actually the air pollution wasn't that bad in southern China 10 years ago, it was northern China that had the fog and PM2.5 problems, especially in winters, back then. Now the air pollution has been significantly reduced thanks to the adoption of new energy technologies (solar, wind and nuclear power, EVs and hydrogen vehicles) and the reduction of fossil fuel uses like those of coals and gasoline, etc .
