Goebbles. His middle name did not start with an M. There are several hundred pages in German that site the statement, but none give a source. It was also out of Goebbles character to have said that, especially in public. He always maintained that propaganda had to be truthful. The Nazis issued a weekly series of posters with inspiring quotes that were displayed throughout Germany. One from 1940 displays his alleged love for the truth. The hacked up quote itself is one of the more well known false Nazi quotes. So, maybe check your facts before you go around calling other people's intelligence into question.
