The only reason Europe is dependent on Russia is the EU's ideological opposition to fossil fuels or nuclear power. there's plenty of oil all over the world for them but they would rather their citizens freeze and starve than use any of it. These days the US is the same way. I never thought I'd see the day when developed nations deliberately turn themselves into 3rd world countries over bad science.
