"If we had a better electoral system": Don't you see how the electoral college is the problem, not the solution? What it should be is direct voting with each person having one vote. Popular vote should decide who gets to be POTUS.

"Ranked choice would solve this issue so easily": It doesn't work at all in a system with an electoral college and winner takes all states. You have to implement popular vote first.

@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 "New York and Los Angeles should not make the decision for the entire country.": Well, guess what: Two states outta fifty decide who gets to be the republican and the democrat candidate respectively, and after that a couple of swing states decide who gets to be POTUS. How is that more fair than one person one vote?

@zedwolf1589 "Ranked choice voting is the best way to fix it.": That only works when you have the popular vote deciding elections. Under the electoral college only the winning party matters.

@dontwantpeopletoknowmyreal386 " ending gerrymandering in the house": DO you realize that there wouldn't even be a reason to gerrymander in the first place if the electoral college didn't exist? If we actually had popular vote as a method of election our leaders, there would be no reason for gerrymandering in the first place.

@dontwantpeopletoknowmyreal386 "Gerrymandering has nothing to do with the presidency.": Lmfao, you're either lying, in denial or you don't understand what gerrymandering means. Here, let me help you: "Gerrymandering is the practice of setting boundaries of electoral districts to favor specific political interests within legislative bodies, often resulting in districts with convoluted, winding boundaries rather than compact areas." Gerrymandering has everything to do with what leads up to the presidency, because it happens on ALL SCALES of politics.

@dontwantpeopletoknowmyreal386 "You are bringing a lot of smoke for someone who got some basic facts wrong.": That's funny coming from someone who uses personal attacks as arguments, because you refuse to understand what other people are saying and you can't counter your opponents arguments.

@AB-zl4nh "The electoral college is not the same thing as the electoral voting system. The electoral college is one part of the electoral voting system.": Nice try turning this into a semantics game. So both things are the problem. I don't see how that adds anything to your argument.
