Yes, it would be a lot more tolerable if we could at least afford our own house (without any debt), instead of having to live with parents or roommates.

No, letting Nani follow her dream and go to college isn't "propaganda". Y'all don't even know what words mean anymore.
8
No, it doesn't. It shows Lilo that she, too, can chace her dreams. It .akes Nani a role model instead of a parentified stay at home mom for Lilo and Stitch.
8
I agree with you on Jumba, but not Nani. In the OG Nani always has to sacrifice her dreams and needs for others. Now they finally fixed the ending and let her go study and chase her dreams. Ypu shouldn't be mad in the first place: Family outside of white culture isn't just people who are related to you by blood. Non-white cultures are very close, and they consider their tribemates and neighbors family as well.
7
Same. I really like the new ending.
6
Me, too. Finally Nani gets to follow her dreams and not be stuck at home in low wage, dead end jobs being a parentified older sister...

@lenastorm6280 "She gave up custody for her little sister, wich means Nani has ZERO rights when it comes to Lilo.": Not true. It doesn't mean that. Nani is still next of kin for Lilo. "The neighbor could move away": No, the neighbor is an old, retired lady who can barely walk. She ain't going anywwhere... Again, with that white savior complex and misunderstanding of history: There is a difference between Lilo being taken away by a white family who has no clue about hawai'ian culture, vs her staying with her *hawai'ian neighbor in Hawai'i*. This fact is being conveniently ignored by y'all.

We also can't hear the dialogue as clearly as we used to. It's a sh!tshow, but as long as mindless consumers keep paying for it, nothing will change.
4
Online classes are usually more expensive and they clearly lack money....
3
@adrenalinevan "imagine thinking propaganda never has the message "follow your dream"" : Imagine having to put words in other peoples' mouth because you have no real arguments. Nani going to college literally gives her the oportunity to get out of poverty and give Lilo a good life.
3
Oh, we're not anywhere close to done with those 🤣🤣 everything gets a remake these days...
3
A lot of it comes down to both outright and lowkey misogyny. Notice how none of this is even an issue when the character is male?
3
Media is for everybody, but I think this is more for newer, younger viewers. Most of the film is the exact same, sometimes even by line, except for the ending.
3
Exactly.
2
Just don't watch them 👌 it's that simple...
2
@pc6461 "had me thinking I was losing my hearing": Me, too. I started consulting many different doctors about both my eye-sight and my hearing, but neither one of them all could find something that was wrong with me. I thought I was either going deaf and blind or just straight-up insane... :-/
2
@1957DLT "It absolutely does exist for young men": What does?
2
@lexis4490 @lexis : Exactly, thank you! Nani is just getting an education so she can get out of poverty and keep Lilo, but people are having endless meltdowns and are calling that her a traitor 🤣🤣🤣 One can tell those people are still very much kids, dependent on their parents for money and housing and with no life or job experiences.
2
This controversy shows how lame stream media is complacent in all kinds of víolènce happening in society: Instead of educating people about harms, they (media) glamorize and sugarcoat abúse on TV.
2
No, it doesn't. Nani staying and not taking the chance at not only a career, but somwthing she really likes and something very useful for society and wildlife, is the usual B$ forced on women and girls to sacrifice themselves and their needs / wants for other people. If Nani were a man, (s)he'd NEVER get asked to sacrifice those things for other people.

@ "but the system we live in is not it for me.": This is exactly why you need to organize and get in contact with a revolutionary còmmùníst party.
1
@ @arie : Congrats, you answered your own question. If we could afford to save our own money (instead of being robbed constantly by the gov't) like boomers and the generations before them, we wouldn't need mortages. The entire financial system is just there to keep workers in endless debt, so that we keep being indentured sl@ves not just out own entire lives, but beyond endless gennerations. The only way to get out of this is by getting rid of the global càpìtálí$t system.
