Let's be honest: Very few of us actually have the means to pay off somebody who we wronged in any way. And no, it's not just a "contract thing". Not every one of us can get a contract done, especially not with a guy like Andrew, who thinks that r@ping kids isn't wrong and that he is innocent. Contracts are a "power thing", as you call it. Someone like Andrew, with tons of cash, is on top of the hierarchy. He's the one with the most negotiation power. His victim, who is middle class, has very limited negotiation power.
