@iPeeOnBabies @wiley : You're right about that. However, the right wing has never been a friend to the working class and the poor, especially if you as an individual don't fit their standards, which in Italy are the following characteristics: white, christian (preferably catholic of course!), cis-het, anti-immigration.
8
You guys conquered half of the world and then -or rather STILL - complain about immigration. xD

You're sadly right. As an Italian I'm disappointed that my fellow people have fallen for fascist lies once again. However, I'm not surprised in the least: After all, people in Italy have been celebrating every single one of Mussolini's birthdays - and those of other fascists - since he got into power.
5
@doshpits I bet he is not even black.

If Italy wants to be "left alone", then stop taking all that nice cash from other European countries. - sincinerely me, a fellow Italian.

@Tribuneoftheplebs Bunga Bunga is the least of Italy's problems right now.. xD
3
She's a fascist, so that's all she's got going for herself.
2
Thank you for your kind words. As an Italian, I agree with you, @J C. The left has become so idealistic, that they forgot that the voters themselves are nowhere nearly progressing as fast as their ideals.
2
@Joe_wes @giovanni: Your own argument makes no sense. In Italy, gay married couples do not have the same rights as their straight married counterparts. Italy is one of the least lgbtq-friendly western countries in the entire world.
2
Agreed. Sadly, fascism is back.
2
Military isn't everything. If Italy were exclusively surrounded by EU states, like Germany, Austria and many other countriws are, Italy wouldn't be needing a military at all.
2
@iPeeOnBabies You don't even know what Marxism is and you've never even read a single one of Marx' books. If you did, you would know that it's about uniting all working class citizens from all political spectrums. The real enemy of the people is the corporate elite, not the other citizens who are on the opposite of the political spectum.

@djackson4605 It's not about "emotions". It's about learning from (fascist) history, which Italy never did. And now, we Italians are right back and have elected our new Duce (the Italian word for Führer). You don't know Italians like I do, and not just because I'm "half" Italian. I know what is taught in Italian schools (fascism is great and brought the country and its people wealth) and how nostalgic children of people are, who weren't alive during the war, but spent their childhood and grew up right after the war, when every handyworking economy was booming, millions of new, affordable houses were build every year and getting high paying jobs was easy and a family of 10 (as in 2 parents and 8 kids) could easily live off of one income. That's what Italians associate with fascism.
2
So what is stopping you from moving back to Italy?
2
@sendthis9480 @SendThis : You list things that are true (other than the water in pasta thing, which is completely irrelevant), but let's not pretend that just because they are true, they might just be morally good. Because they really aren't? Fascism isn't a good thing. So what are you trying to say?
1
You're sadly right about that. It's gonna get rough again, thanks to neo-fascist and neo-n@zi parties.
1
Sounds great! Then you can finally stop living off of mommy EU and daddy NATO's money :)
1
She literay gave an interview in france tv where she said she wanted to follow in Mussolini's footsteps. How is that not fascist?
1
Sadly, yes. It's been too long and people don't remember what happened back them anymore, because they weren't alive at the time and Italy has a huge issue when it comes to teaching history. In Italy, fascism is portrayed as a good thing and as the reason the war was won.
1
Then you clearly don't understand how democracy works. Thanks to the legge rosatellum the party Fratelli d'Italia will get a clear majority of the senate and the "house of rep.s" despite not having enough votes to even get a numerical majority, meaning Italy will be ruled by a minority. This is not democracy.

Draghi is a neo-conservative banker. He's center right and no: We were not all excited about him. We are worse of after his WEF reign, than we were before.
1
How long will we Italians, who are against Meloni and fascism, have to wait for that? Could you please get rid of Salvini, Berlusconi and Draghi as well? We'd very much appreciate it.
1
So sorry to hear that, and I'm Italian myself. I'm trying to get out of Italy as soon as I can, because as an atheist, an anti-fascist and ally of the lgbt-community I see no future in this country.
