However, there is a fundamental difference between the US' wars and Russia's wars: The US wages wars in countries that are nowhere near their own border and they are not being attacked on home turf, either. Russia has started conflicts near their own border, because the dream of Russian expansion gives Putin and his corporate goons some stiffies. Also Ukraine is fighting back and actually defending themselves.
