Comments by "Dan" (@Dan-di9jd) on "Steven Seagal's Attrition - He Waddles In A Mumu u0026 Kills Innocent People - Worst Movie Ever" video.
Yeah this is one of those movies where he's trying to act like a wise master teaching the yougsters all about being a wise kung fu master. But instead he looks like a total jerk where he's stealing from a store because he's helping the store owner, and he's going around town beating up people like he's in 2nd grade playground where he beats someone up and the entire class going, "Wow, Sensei Seagal is so awesome!" Also the worst part is after all that wise talks he goes around blasting people and talking to people in the most profane way possible like he's so bad.

@BloodEdgeExtreme2000 what makes it worse is you don’t know if he’s dead serious or making a parody.

@AztecUnshaven Seagal wants us to believe that a very obese man who waddles and looks lethargic all the time will be special forces and somehow through some great epiphany he found he needs to channel his inner peace and he goes into a small town as an outside and yet somehow won over the ENTIRE city simply by being a DIY chiropractor, beating up people, and on top of that stealing from a store because the owner is too proud to pay him money. Then at the end, for reasons not ever stated in the movie, he decides to help out this woman a third of his age and does he use this wise kung fu master that he had portrayed himself as? Nope, he's armed to the teeth and uses the most foul language and description to discuss how he'll just help this woman a third of his age for no reason and massacre people based on a loose, unspecific dream.

Honestly this is why I love reading some of the comments. The OP hit the nail on the head that he was completely trying to act like Ip Man which was something I was thinking along the lines of but couldn't put a name on it. Sensei Seagal is acting 100% Ip Man but instead of coming across as some wise kung fu master teaching a valuable lesson about life he comes across as a complete imbecile. @BloodEdgeExtreme2000

Ip Man is a real person though, not just a film though I imagine Seagal went along those lines to match the release of that movie. Seems odd that Seagal would release a film that coincides with Ip Man films taking off. I don't know if you watched this movie, but he acts like a kung fu master roaming the village performing karate services for the citizens. Some folks like to rescue cats or help out the shop owner, but instead Sensei Seagal is going around making wise statements and beating everyone up. Somehow he has a club of "insiders" he wants to protect and everyone else is viewed as a threat. Instead of coming across as a wise master, it turns to comedy when he decides to go after this criminal organization using firearms and going completely against everything he taught up to that point. Instead of being seen as this cool kung fu master we see some sort of bully we're unsure of how he figured out who the bad guys are and who aren't yet somehow we're left to believe he's the good guy here. @AztecUnshaven

I tried to watch this movie a few times and nearly made it to the end once. The part that I can't stop laughing though is that scene where Seagal explains to that man that he sends the store owner's daughter to school and that he steals to pay him back. And the scene that just blows my mind by how out of place and random it is when that old man reveals he's this guy's long lost father. Just so many unanswered questions for something that has nothing to do with the plot itself.

Even though I never completely watched the film myself, I sometimes think about the plot. It's so asinine that you can't help but think of some of the major plots. The two plot points that simply blows my mind is when he sits down to discuss why he steals from the store to that guy who confronted him. And that scene where the old man reveals he's his long lost father. These two scenes sometimes just randomly pops up in my head and also that General Commander movie where Seagal mumbles two governments inside a government just randomly pops up in my head especially when I hear something on the news. I imagine Space Ice is just sitting at home and randomly these movies just pop up in his mind.

@geoffreysorkin5774 he probably got pretty good financial advice in his young age. If he took the money he made and put it in as investment into something like real estate or business or whatnot he’s probably much more successful than most people out there. But it has nothing to do with movies though but I’m sure his appearances in movies helped his success.

@geoffreysorkin5774 his net worth is 14 million dollars right now. For under siege which was his best movie probably he only made $5 million dollars from it. Overall it appears his success is from his dojos that he runs and that probably pays for his roles in these movies. It’s hard to know how much he paid into this movie but from what I can tell it costs roughly $20-50k to make these movies which for him is not a lot if he makes one or two every so often. He uses a good publishing company that helps him put these into DTV. So it’s not terribly expensive in terms of his overall worth.
