It seems like in California, if you and a group of people decided you wanted to do something illegal, you can totally get away with it. Never seen that happened before in our country.

No you're not.

I think a big thing missed in this story is that they experienced an unexpected death and were on their way to see family members. So it's understandable that they would be in silent throughout the flight. However, I don't think the flit attendant should get into any trouble. She went through training and saw the signs of what she thought was human trafficking. Unless they can prove she did so out of malice, she should not get into any sort of trouble and instead, the airlines should modify or otherwise send out a memo on how to further investigate. Perhaps if the FA knew of the family death, she would not have said anything.

@jeaniemarczniec7755 I don't mean it that way. I meant had she known maybe she would have reacted differently. But regardless, she shouldn't get into any trouble. She was doing her job and by punishing her, others will be hesitant in coming forward. The real question is we only seen one case where they were wrong. Does the airline has any sort of statistic on what percentage they get right for these human trafficking complaints? If it is below 40%, I would say they need to seriously revisit or at least make it less embarrassing for the people who are accused.

@jeaniemarczniec7755 As far as I can read, HR4989 was introduced this year by the 117th congress that mandates every public worker, including those in airline business to take the training. That would be signed by none other than Joey Biden. Also, HB4989 is an amendment of the Public Health Service Act, passed in 1944 by none other than FDR, in an era that passed many of the progressive policies that we see today. The act is used to amend and mandate the Human Trafficking Training. The actual training for Human Trafficking started sometime 10 years ago under Obama. So no, Trump had nothing to do with it. The policy was written long ago and still used today.

From what I understand, there is no certification on being a firearms instructor. There is a loose NRA-certified instructor but it's not a requirement by the state in order to be an instructor. A lot of these people will lie to potential clients to get them. Usually lie about their military background which people crave and sign up immediately. I live in a high population military area and one time went to a rifle course taught by someone who claims to be an ex-SEAL. I had a friend who was in the actual SEAL team and decided to tag along and while at the class the guy gave a brief history of his background and my friend, who is actually on the team, started to question him. We eventually found out the guy was lying about his credentials and background and we don't believe he even served in the military before since he didn't seem to know a lot of basic questions outside of the larger "SEAL" stuff that you can find anywhere online. This isn't uncommon. Plenty of youtubers getting exposed for lying including the one guy who claims he got a medical discharge but it was found from his dd214 that he got a less than honorable discharge and refused to complete basic training. He was never on any sort of special forces or even made it through the basic.

Yes, you're 100% correct. I do believe a lot of these tactical classes will be taught by people who claim to be ex-military or special forces and they would make all these fancy pants courses. They were dishonest from the start so no surprise they're dishonest in other parts of their lives. It is best to avoid these extreme classes where someone claims they're some sort of ex-military type and instead stick to the NRA certified classes instead. They're boring and maybe not exactly spectacular but definitely go over fundamentals that everyone should know. @Konarcoffee

You're right. Unfortunately I don't think there are any state level requirements on who can teach firearms classes and there are no set guidelines. I do believe CCW permits and such might require that you take a valid NRA-certified hunters safety course but that is the only requirement that I know of. When I went to get my CCW, the instructor was a NRA certified instructor and it was boring as heck to sit in the room but he was going over some very serious stuff. Otherwise, if you buy a rifle, an want to take a tactical course, there's no way to know what sort of qualification they have and if they're lying about it, there's no one to report it to or holding them accountable in any way. @annwisniewski971

He might have not been driving behind it for long. He could have just happened upon the truck at the same exact time the log fell off. He probably had a split second before realizing anything happening. So yeah, try to drive slower on the freeway and try to pay attention to what is ahead of you. Up to this point the worst thing I experienced flying at me was a door but I don't know if it could have been fatal if it hit me but I did see it was smashed to pieces on my rearview mirror. You just never know when your time is up so just always appreciate the day you live in and the time you have because you never know when it'll be up.

I think it is too early to tell, to be honest. You left out some other wage hikes too like health care workers will get a $18, $21, or $23 an hour depending on what they do. So it's not just fast food workers getting the pay hike. I also don't think employers will look to their lawyers and try to find loopholes, which I'm sure will exist as many of these kind of laws depend on number of employees and what type of restaurant. I'm thinking they'll probably remove a bulk of the workforce by removing public bathrooms and eating areas and even removing the teller and keeping it a kiosk system will reduce the cost by hundred of grands per restaurant.
