Yeah but how much of it they actually paid? Just because you get that money doesn't mean you're going to actually get paid.

@bigmike- I disagree that the designers shouldn't be held accountable. They should be held accountable. When I had my building designed, the company actually went through all the test and safety phase. They made sure it had all the safety requirements per law such as emergency exits, fire system, and various other things. I feel a theme park designer would need to ensure whatever safety protocols that need to be in place such as making sure guests can ride the ride safely. They wouldn't approve a rollercoast that pulled 100 G so why would they design a slide that could unsafely launch someone high enough to be decapitated by something on the ride itself?

It's one of those things where they invested so much money and time into it that they wanted to make it work at all cost without consideration for safety of the guests.
