The concept is still around with ACOGs that they're called Bidon Aiming Concept. The idea is in close quarter situations, you can quickly shoot by keeping both eyes opens.

After this video did you practice with the armson any more? I wonder if the limitations or roadblocks have work arounds? I’m trying to research the armson since I’m getting one but I haven’t read anyone using it over extended periods either hunting or competing.

I now understand it better. I got one last week and having a hard time understanding how it works. But I didn't realize the lugs were cut at an angle and now understand it is always wanting to "open" but is being forced closed and the round is causing it to go backwards. I thought some gas was hitting the top of the carrier.

I just ordered one for my AR carry handle. Everything I'm reading about seems to point that you need to see the target and have both eyes open and it is very close. I'm thinking the carry handle is the best because you can use the iron sights in odd situations like you on the ground or targets really far out.

One topic no one wants to talk about is the barrel burn out. I would say the ammo is very hot with higher chamber pressure so you're talking about a drastically short barrel life. I wouldn't be surprised this is the main downfall of this rifle as it'll probably burn out in less than 3,000 rounds with comparably you could get 7-14k out of a m4/16. I don't think the burnout would happen so soon as these rifles get deployed. By then the US would be so financially involved in this project that they can't back out and have to either get a new rifle or a new round.
