  4. There was not actually a debate here and most of Prager's statements were pretty shaky. He doesn't seem to know what evolution actually says, he makes a lot of charges against the left that are just as true as the right but there was no one on this video to challenge him.

  5. Adam Fitzpatrick Just last month conservatives were boycotting companies for not saying "Merry Christmas" enough. The reason you don't see it is because you agree with it.

So, liberals boycott because a business is discriminating against a section of the population or, as in the case of Chik-fil-a donating money to organizations that are seeking to put in place laws where gay people will actually be killed in Africa, or that baker everyone brings up who wasn't tried because she refused to bake a cake but because she doxed the couple who had asked.  Conservatives boycott because the company doesn't use the right magic words enough.

  8. Adam Fitzpatrick What's the difference between a small government telling you what to do and a large government telling you what to do? Why should gay people have to have their marriage status change every time they cross the state line? So, in one state they have full rights in the next they don't even have hospital visitation rights? Sorry, that's just idiotic. The idea that states rights is some kind of magical, reasonable solution is just silly. We should all have equal rights. If the government is involved in marriage then it should be the same for the entire country not dependent on what your state legislature decided.

  9. Rob Green I think he disagrees with quite a bit of what Dennis says but his style is that he doesn't say so, he also doesn't correct factual inaccuracies that his guests present which I think is a weakness of his style because it lets misinformation pass unchallenged.

  13. ravissary79 Too often the right trivializes the legitimate concerns of the left. They don't actually know what the real concern is because they don't bother to listen to what's actually going on. This was the real issue with Chik-fil-a. The owner was (and possibly still is) donating money to these religious groups that are influencing laws in Africa that are very dangerous to gay people. But the media and most of the leftists made it seem like a tantrum over gay marriage.

  15. That would be a swell argument if people actually took the time to do that. Most people--both conservative and liberal listen to ideas and just accept the ones that conform to their beliefs as true and don't bother to find out the truth--like Prager's total misunderstanding of evolution. If the actual facts aren't presented at the time people will just go on thinking what they already did. This is a weakness of Dave's style. If you watched his video you would think those bakers were sued because they refused to bake a cake for a gay couple and not the truth which is that they doxed the couple opening them up to threats and harassment. They would think that liberals just suddenly wanted to pass a law about which bathrooms trans people can use when in reality it came to pass because trans teenagers were being harassed in the bathrooms of their high schools. There are times when there are actually facts. It's funny that conservatives who say so often that they don't believe in subjective morality are all for "both sides say this" when there are actually facts involved.

  16. Allzumenschliches44 When I read the comments about Rubin's show it's mostly just conservatives barking "Hell yeah". They don't bother to find out what the actual stories were about and neither, really, does Dave so he allows a lot of actually false statements to go unquestioned. And, from what I've heard, he mutes people who bring up the areas where his guests are wrong.

And why couldn't he have told Prager that what he was saying about evolution was incorrect? He didn't even need to say "that's not what biologists claim" he could have just said that evolution doesn't deal with the origin of life. That's not really something you need to be a scientist to point out. Prager kept claiming he loved science at the same time showing a deep misunderstanding of the subject. If Dave can't handle the interviews he should stick to talking to comedians.

We had rightists boycotting because companies didn't say "Merry Christmas" enough. We have 1 Million Moms calling for boycotts every time a company uses a gay couple in their advertising. You seem to have selective blindness.

The thing with Prager--and lately with Dave is that they blow up every little thing the left does while ignoring what the right does at a time when the extreme edges of the right are feeling very empowered.

  33. Brian They are a political representative in that they are living openly in an often oppressive political environment. Just as burning crosses on the lawns of black people was terrorism and political so is this. It is all meant to keep some with whom you disagree quiet. This is political even if it makes you uncomfortable. It is meant to send a message to a whole community either "get out" or "shut up."

  47. This shows the danger of Rubin's style. Prager says so many things that are just not true and just wrong but Dave just laughs and goes along with it. Prager doesn't understand evolution, makes a lot of just inaccurate comments about what creates good and bad, makes rather ridiculous statements about Israel and is hypocritical on point after point but Dave just says "yes, and".

  50. Dave doesn't question them when they are objectively wrong either. I often think he just doesn't know what the facts are. I'm not going to watch the Prager video again although I remember that there were things he said that were objectively wrong. I do remember specific things on other videos where the guest said something that was just provably false and Dave just nodded along.

  55. VisionStorm1 Didn't happen. They talked nonstop about the emails and the server but didn't address any of the many issues around Trump's campaign until he became the candidate and even then they concentrated more on the sex scandals than the serious ethical questions.

With Trump they just talked buddy-buddy with him up and really gave him a pass. The Sunday morning shows like This Week With George Stephanopoulis  basically let him call in whenever he wanted and just go on and on uninterrupted. You're remembering things in a way they didn't happen.

  58. WigganNuG The CEO of Chik-fil-a did more that just not be in favor of gay marriage. He donated money to the groups passing the "kill the gays" laws in Africa, as well as funding some anti-gay movements in this country.

  60. Geronimo32509 Funny. That's what people criticize the MSM for. Not asking tough questions so that the guests will come on the show. It's not a list of things that I can provide. It would come from researching his guests or the issues they are going to talk about. I know it's crazy to expect an interviewer to prepare but I guess I'm a dreamer.

And I'm not talking about a debate, I'm talking about asking follow up questions, especially when someone says something blatantly untrue. I'm also not saying he has to be an expert (although that was a great strawman) just that he do some research on the guests and subjects in his interviews. And I'm not surprised you'd like to hear them talk out of their ass rather than be questioned--because as long as they are not questioned you don't have to question what they say or your assumptions.
