How, in any way can Islam which suppresses the rights of women lead to feminism?

Certainly if you look at the Bible it has as much bad stuff as the Koran, but most Christians (at least in the US) don't actually follow it as radical Islamists do.

***** Yes. I did. Read Leviticus. Read Paul's letters. They're awful and have awful laws and treatments of people.
2
***** The reason Christians aren't as bad as Muslims is because they DON'T do what the Bible tells them.
2
***** So you're trying to parse it by the number of verses and not the content? That's pretty weasely. Does this mean that you admit that there are equally bad things content-wise?
2
***** But since you are being weaselly, here's a website that backs me up. http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/cruelty/bible_quran.html
2
***** But, since your main point seems to be to say that the Koran is worse than the Bible, would you at least admit that those verses in the Bible are terrible?
2
***** I said the Koran. And again, I'm not defending Islam, just pointing out that if you go by the actual text the Bible is as bad. And again THE REASON THAT CHRISTIANS NOW AREN'T AS VIOLENT IS THAT THEY DON'T FOLLOW EVERYTHING THE BIBLE SAYS. Also, it's not "something I read about Christianity". IT'S THE FUCKING BIBLE. And it's a terrible source for morality as are the Islamic scriptures. Neither of these sources are great places to go for moral teaching.
2
***** The New Testament isn't all that great either. And I would argue that the Old Testament and Islamic writings are both pretty bad--and if you're just looking at the Koran the OT is worse.
2
***** I said the Koran. You're really pulling shit out of your ass now.

I think it's wrong to include "atheism" as a religion ( which I guess he doesn't specifically do) because atheism only says that one doesn't believe in god, there is no dogma explicit to atheism beyond that so you will find any number of beliefs or opinions that don't specifically relate to atheism but can be rational or irrational depending on the atheist. There are atheists who won't accept anything for which there is no empirical evidence but there are atheists who believe in ghosts or alien abductions.
