  3. +Leighton Elliott, I didn't say it mattered. But I disagree that it doesn't. It's good for gay people to be open about who they are, even, or especially, if it makes people uncomfortable because that might make them reconsider their anti-gay feelings and realize they have an issue.

  9. I would need to hear him say that, but I'm sure that he is extremely grateful for the approval of a heterosexual approving of him not making his sexual orientation a big thing. Also, I appreciate your never mentioning your sexual preference too.

  10. Hi sexual orientation is a part of his identity. He would not be who he is now if he wasn't gay. All of those things you pointed out are a part of people's identities and while it's great that you haven't had to deal with anything like that I don't know why you think it's a virtue to not talk about it. Those things are not unimportant. They are not the sum total of a person but they are incredibly important and if you think they're not you're just not paying attention.
