Donald Trump--who is claiming to be a conservative and pro-life says that it has to be made illegal and that the woman has to be punished somehow. He's completely consistent with the Republican party and more honest than most because he's admitting that if it were made illegal the woman would have to be punished. This is another reason, if you think a woman should have bodily autonomy, not to vote for a conservative. Nothing dishonest about that.

If you think abortion should be illegal that means that the woman who has the abortion has to be punished. He's not one of those pro-lifers who believe abortion is wrong but that the legal system shouldn't be involved. He said what he meant.

It wasn't a hypothetical situation because he was asking Donald about his views (that abortion should be illegal) and, if he succeeded in making it illegal who should be punished (the woman who sought the abortion). The difference you are trying to claim is unimportant.

He said he is pro-life, that abortion should be legal and that the woman would have to face some sort of punishment (but he wouldn't say what). I don't care how you feel about it, that's not the issue. The issue is what Trump said--he said it straight out (and later, of course, backtracked) but he said it pretty clearly here.

You keep making this some sort of personal thing rather than a Presidential candidate who just said women should be prosecuted for having abortions. He's not having a college debate or discussing the vagueries of the laws over a drink after dinner--he's talking to a reporter while he's campaigning for President. There is no other context to this. He wasn't addressing a hypothetical he was expressing his feelings on what should happen to these women.

And Trump SAID it should be illegal and should be stopped and that the woman should be prosecuted. No one put that in his mouth. Trump said it should be illegal. You're trying to create a context that doesn't exist.
