@randmayfield5695 oh I have nothing against firearms. I own seven myself. I however also don't live in Texas and don't need to carry one to protect myself. You must live in an awful neighborhood. My point was, you can move to a better one where you're not at all likely to be robbed

@lettersandwordsandstuffs the homicide rates are pretty similar actually. I guess it depends on where you live though, the nearest juggings are hundreds of miles from where I live. I guess North Texas may be an exception

@lettersandwordsandstuffs it does in a lot of ways. Highest GDP by far, for one. Most food production, by far. Tallest trees, oldest trees, highest mountain in the lower 48, deepest desert in the nation. More coastline than any state but Alaska. you can keep Texas

@lettersandwordsandstuffs there's no homeless doodoo where I live. California is a big state, you should visit some day. We don't have juggings out here. Down in Oakland yeah probably, but that's hundreds of miles away. Texas had a violent crime rate in 2020 of 446.5. California's violent crime rate was 442, slightly lower than that of Texas. Not sure where your information is coming from

@MultiBannanaSHITTTT I don't pack a gun when in public for the same reason I don't pack one in my own home. It's safe where I live. You want to live in fear, in a place where your neighbors will rob you, go right ahead. Must be an awful way to live.

@makingadjustments I didn't mean to imply that owning a gun is to live in fear. I own seven firearms, but I don't feel the need to carry them all around with me everywhere I go. I know people who won't go out to the mailbox without a pistol on their belt, but living that way seems ridiculous to me. This ain't Oakland

@tongpoo8985 Well I guess we'll have to disagree about that. The crime statistics are pretty similar actually, if you actually look at those numbers. Me, I live 5 minutes from the beach and pay less than $1000 a month for a nice 2-bedroom apartment. 3 good days at work and the rent is paid for the month. If you can't afford that, well then no wonder you're homeless

@tongpoo8985 I'm not lying, but I also don't live right ON the beach. I'm about 5 minutes drive away, like I said. California is a big state. Maybe you didn't realize, but there's a lot more cities on the coast outside of Los Angeles and San Francisco. You can keep Austin, you couldn't paye to move there. Take a look at Ferndale. Better fishing out here than anywhere in Texas

@tongpoo8985 I'd wager the people moving out of California are all leaving the cities. Lines to buy or rent property throughout the state remain horribly long. Some quitters want to move to Texas, fine with me. Maybe the property values will finally come down a bit if enough people leave

@tongpoo8985 no thanks, I'll stick with my halibut and salmon and tuna. I wouldn't trust fish out of the Gulf, lots of pollution coming down the Mississippi. I hear the dead zones there are expanding. Hey thanks, but you can keep Texas. I also wouldn't like the weather there, and the people don't seem very friendly. I've been told by many Texans to stay out. I wouldn't want to come someplace where I'm not wanted. Very unfriendly people out there apparently, from what I can tell from my interactions with Texans.

@tongpoo8985 all those people left California, and yet the lines to buy or rent property here are still stupid long. More people need to leave. There's not enough beach for everyone who wants to live here. If nobody wanted to live here, there wouldn't have been 40 people in line for my apartment

@tongpoo8985 I'm not lying. Sorry that you live in a place where you are used to people lying to you. The rent here is raised every year. It was $800 a month when I moved in, that was 7 years ago. The prices of all the properties here are constantly raising, for the reason you mentioned. Home buyers are in bidding wars, highest bidder wins. Real estate here has skyrocketed in the last 20 years. If nobody wanted to live here, the rents would decrease over time.

@tongpoo8985 the exact amount I pay is $970, includes water and garbage service. About 2 miles inland from the beach. Nearly 25% more expensive than when I first moved in, 7 years ago. Undoubtedly the rent will go up this year as well, so my bragging rights about paying less than a grand will soon be revoked.

@herogibson there's no juggings in the city where I live. People don't have to go around armed to feel safe. Obviously there are criminals everywhere but Texas looks special in that regard

@tongpoo8985 my fishing spots here are the mouth of the Eel River near Fortuna, and the Trinity River near Willow Creek, and the beaches and lagoons between here and Oregon. Take a look at a few of the videos on my page and you'll see why I'm not moving to Texas, but I do appreciate your friendliness, it's a refreshing change from the usual treatment I get from Texans

The biggest city up on the coast here has a population of about 26,000. You must think that is a tiny little town. good luck with your juggings down there, buddy
