Sounds like that train project is in violation of CEQA, NHPA and NEPA guidelines

@brianhaflin9799 there are lots of federal and state laws regarding the protection of cultural and historical resources (such as cemeteries) during implementation of projects that use government permitting or funding (such as commuter train projects)

@vivianfoster702 um, exactly. You can't have homes on top of grave sites. You said it yourself. The fact that the law was broken does not mean that the crime should be allowed to occur

@heatherl7028 Yes the mayor was wrong, and this case is evidence why he was wrong. If you ignore regulations and codes and laws, they're liable to come back and bite you when you're not looking.

@heatherl7028 One of the reasons we have regulations protecting things like historic cemeteries. If they had just ignored the graves, then when the backhoe came through to excavate the trench for the new train, you'd have human skulls rolling out of the sidewall. Lawsuit time! Project stopped! Say goodbye to your train for a while
